Everthing's rosy for garden loving retirees at Eastbank Court

Everthing's rosy for garden loving retirees at Eastbank Court

A GROWING number of people are finding that a move to a brand new retirement property in Worcester allows them to blossom in their later years.

But with only a few apartments remaining at Eastbank Court and Eastbank Lodge, those hoping to join them will need to act fast - especially if they want to enjoy the beautiful landscaped gardens in all of their glory this spring/ summer.

A real sense of community has bloomed at the luxury retirement development, where homeowners have formed firm friendships with their new neighbours and have been making good use of the hotel-style communal facilities including the beautifully manicured grounds.

Aspen Retirement’s Glenys Bastin said: “The onset of spring can encourage people to think about their living arrangements and how they’re managing in their current home and garden, which might be too big, too much hard work or overgrown. Some think their only choice is between hiring a gardener or to move to an apartment with little access to outside space.

“Not true. With a move to Eastbank Court and Eastbank Lodge they can enjoy the glorious gardens without having to worry about the hard work involved as our expert gardeners ensure the grounds look their best all year round.

“Even when it’s not warm enough to sit outside, we have a lovely garden room and conservatory where homeowners can watch as the gardens change with the seasons. Some of the people who live here even use exploring the outside space as a regular form of exercise, while those who are green-fingered opt to lend a hand with finishing touches.”

Homeowners at the popular Aspen Retirement complex can access facilities including a salon, library, activities room and even a licensed restaurant. There’s also the reassurance of the support of friendly staff around the clock. Plus with 90 minutes’ domestic help a week included in the service charge, there will be no need to worry about spring cleaning.

Only three brand new apartments remain for sale – a one-bedroom home in the main building, Eastbank Court, priced at £199,950 and a pair of two-bedroom apartments in Eastbank Lodge, starting from £242,950.

Aspen also manages a small number of re-sale apartments

The new properties can be bought by those aged 60-plus. Purchasers aged 70 and over could pay just 80% of the price of an apartment using the Aspen Equity Share scheme where Aspen Retirement Ltd retain a 20% Equity Share interest in the property until it is resold at a later date.

Located on Eastbank Drive, in the Northwick area of Worcester, Eastbank Court and Lodge are ideally placed in a quiet residential area. There’s a post office, shop and chemist just 250 yards away, as well as the bus stop for journeys into the city centre. There are even motorised scooters available for homeowners to hire, showing every little detail has been considered.
