Our last three retirement apartments in Worcester

Our last three retirement apartments in Worcester

WITH the final countdown of new apartments at Eastbank Court and Lodge in full swing, would-be owners are being urged to spring into action if they want to spend their autumn years in hotel style surroundings.

Located on Eastbank Drive in the Northwick area, the Aspen Retirement development offers retirees the chance to live a five-star lifestyle that’s usually reserved for holidays all year round.

The combination of spacious apartments, a wealth of communal facilities including a licensed restaurant, salon, library and landscaped gardens, with the support of friendly staff on hand around the clock, sets Eastbank Court and Lodge apart from other retirement living options.

There’s a thriving social scene, with new neighbours quickly becoming firm friends.

Unsurprisingly retirees have been keen to purchase the properties and there are now just three brand new apartments available – a one-bedroom home in the main building, Eastbank Court and just two  two-bedroom apartments in Eastbank Lodge.

Aspen’s Glenys Bastin said: “Moving here is very much a lifestyle choice.  In downsizing their living arrangements many of our homeowners find they have upsized their social life. They can choose to spend time in the company of like-minded individuals and make good use of the hotel-style facilities, while still being able to enjoy the privacy of their own apartment.

“Even better, they do not have to worry about some of the more costly home maintenance or heating a draughty older property. And hours spent cooking and cleaning could be a thing of the past, as they can choose to dine in the restaurant, plus 1.5 hours of domestic help is included in the service charge every week. Plus in the summer months they will be able to enjoy the beautiful gardens without having to get their hands dirty.”

Prices are from £199,950 for a one-bedroom apartment at Eastbank Court, with the two-bedroom apartments in Eastbank Lodge starting from £242,950.

Aspen also manages a small number of re-sale apartments

The properties can be bought by those aged 60-plus. Purchasers aged 70 and over could pay just 80% of the price of an apartment using the Aspen Equity Share scheme where Aspen Retirement Ltd retain a 20% Equity Share interest in the property until it is resold at a later date.

Located on Eastbank Drive, in the Northwick area of Worcester, Eastbank Court and Lodge are ideally placed in a quiet residential area. There’s a post office, shop and chemist just 250 yards away, as well as the bus stop for journeys into the city centre. There are even motorised scooters available for homeowners to hire, showing every little detail has been considered.
