First class retirement living
WITH a restaurant and the reassurance of friendly staff, Eastbank Court gives a new meaning to R&R. The Aspen Retirement development in the Northwick area of Worcester is proving popular with those who want to downsize their home, while upsizing their lifestyle.
Access to hotel-style facilities, no need to worry about maintenance and the availability of staff around the clock are among the reasons older people have chosen to move to Eastbank Court. And once they’ve settled in, they’re enjoying a renewed social life in the company of their new neighbours.
Raymond Boyland recently moved from a three-bedroom semi to an apartment at Eastbank Court with his wife Tonie. “Tonie and I are getting on a bit and we felt a little more support would be nice,” Mr Boyland explained. “We looked at several options before we decided on Eastbank Court but we felt this was the best one for us. “We liked the apartment, the reassurance of having staff on duty 24 hours a day and the fact that there’s a restaurant too – we have been a few times and the food is very good. The staff are absolutely marvellous, they can’t do enough for you. They are always so pleasant and happy; they really are first class.”
Along with the restaurant, there’s a licensed bar known as the piano room, an activities room, library, landscaped gardens, airy conservatory-style lounge, plus treatment room used by a visiting chiropodist, therapeutic masseuse and reflexologist.
The Boylands, both 89, have indulged in afternoon tea, attended coffee mornings and in the evenings they’ve played bingo and been to film nights. “We’re busier than ever,” Mr Boyland added. “Another good thing about being here is that there is no maintenance for me. If there is a leak in the roof or the fence blows down, I can just call someone else and don’t have to worry about it.”
Current availability at Eastbank Court includes generously proportioned one-bedroom apartments priced from £184,950. Located on Eastbank Drive, Northwick, the Aspen Retirement development is ideally placed in a quiet residential area. There is a post office, shop and chemist just 250 yards away as well as the bus stop to take you into the city centre.
