Enjoy an Active Retirement with a Move to Grange Court

Enjoy an Active Retirement with a Move to Grange Court

NEW neighbours are striking up new friendships and enjoying a host of social activities at Grange Court in Solihull.

Both the active retired and those who perhaps need some extra care can enjoy life at Grange Court as the development enables them to retain their independence, living in their own home, while also benefitting from the reassurance of friendly on-site support staff and a range of communal facilities.

It’s a lifestyle that’s proving popular with those who’ve already moved in to one of the apartments and Aspen Retirement Living is looking forward to welcoming more people to the development.

Judith Baker, manager of Grange Court, explains: “People moving home in later years may worry that they’re leaving their friends behind, but at Grange Court everyone’s in the same position and new friendships are quickly established.

“To help people settle and get to know one another we have a number of social events including a weekly coffee morning, which both home owners and those thinking of moving to Grange Court attend. We also hold regular keep fit sessions and a games night every Saturday, organised by home owners.”

More than £150 was raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care when home owners helped stage a craft fayre at Grange Court and the busy social calendar has also included a festive meal, a drinks reception hosted by one of the home owners and a buffet lunch with culinary contributions from all.

Many home owners spend time in the communal lounge, where they can enjoy the company of like-minded individuals, but when they want peace and quiet or privacy they can close the door to their apartment.

Home owner Edith Harwood said: “When I first came to look around Grange Court I liked the layout of the development and the home owners and staff I met were all friendly and welcoming. It’s very congenial and we have coffee mornings together.”

Her new neighbour Jean Carter added: “I’m a lively 80-year-old and have made new friends by moving here.

“We all get on exceptionally well and look out for each other. They call it ‘active retirement’ and that’s exactly what it is because we have a lot of activities we can join in with.”

While those who live at Grange Court can enjoy their independence, they also benefit from the reassurance of friendly on-site support staff and an emergency call system should they need help urgently.

Current availability at Grange Court includes a choice of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, with prices from £179,950.

Shared equity available and could reduced the purchase price of an apartment by up to 20%, which means you could live at Grange Court for as little as £143,960.

Judith commented: “Grange Court is the ideal choice for those who want to downsize to a home that’s easy to manage and efficient to run. Home owners will be free of maintenance worries, enabling them to make the most of their later years and enjoy an active retirement.”

The apartments boast well-equipped kitchens, which include an electric eye-level oven, hob, fridge-freezer and washer dryer, while bathrooms include a separate shower cubicle as well as a bath.

Aspen incorporates plenty of built-in storage space within its apartments, but for those moving from larger properties and worried about fitting in all the essentials there are even extra storage lock-ups available for rent. All schemes include a guest suite for when friends and family come to stay.
